A friend of mine wants to come to Taiwan and teach in a public school here.

I have worked here in a private high school as a substitute teacher and found it very frustrating and almost impossible to keep in control of the class. How do you deal with this? Are you rather strict or do you just keep cool? And do you worry about the students progress or doesn't this affect you at all?

Is there a way keeping your job on the very long run without getting under pressure for one or the other? Too bad scores or too strict and therefor unpopular.

Are here any teachers in this forum who can share their opinions ?
