Hi!

I came across this little grammar issue last week when one of my clients talked about his sister's wedding day.

Here is my question. Please tell me which one is right.

The word church can be viewed as:

Example: He was in the church to clean the floor

2) An organization you can become a part of or the body of people belonging to it.

Example: I belong to the roman church. We both are in the church.

3) In and at without the use of the

I was in church last Sunday. I attended the ceremony in the church.

I was at church. I was at the ceremony Church.

The preposition (At) we use to say when we are at a location, event.
Example: at the party, at school, at the bus stop, at the table door window etc.

We use the preposition (In) when we mean the building container house etc.
Example: in the building, in the school, in the church, in the hospital,
in bed. However on the bed.

Sometimes we can use either in or at.
In school or at school
in college or at college
in the movie theater or at the movie theater etc.

We use in with city names and country names
In Holland
In America
In Taiwan
In Taipei
In Tokyo
In Hon-Kong

I hope it helped a little.
