So you gave up your plans concerning Europe??

NEVER!!!!!

I'm probably just staying in Canada for now... maybe 1 year... maybe 4 for my Bachelor's degree... but for my Masters I hope to achieve that in Europe.  It depends on scholarships as well, where I get accepted and how long the scholarships last if I get any.  Maybe I'll take a year off after high school and travel in Europe, and do auditions while I'm there... I don't know!

Exams?!?  *gasp!*  good luck!

Sounds good! I forgot the different curriculum of Bachelor/Master. Nearly every branch of study here in Graz already has this kind of curriculum except of us law students.... We don´t have Bachelor and Master separated - we have just a continuous curriculum. And I like the old system we have much better, because otherwise I had to study at least one year longer than now!

Oh wow!  When it comes to university, time is really really important (even more important than high school).  Yeah, so four years for Bachelor then four years for Masters... and if I want to become a composer (which I probably don't) then another two years for a Doctrine... so basically it takes longer to become a composer (10 years) than it does it become a doctor (7 years).  Which is... really weird!  I don't know where I'll end up...  I'm so glad you found a path which you really love -- law!  And you still play music, which is fantastic!

I don´t know if law is the way I really love - but for sure, it´s a quite short period of study (at least 4 years!) Well, I don´t know if I´ll finish in the minimum time because of my really huge spare time work, but at the moment it would be possible. And if I´d study one year more it wouldn´t bother me at all... It´s nice to be a student - I really like it!

That's a lot of time (10 years to become a composer), but I must say usually becoming a Medical Doctor takes much longer than 7 years.  At least to specialize.  My Dad did 12 years all together, including residency.

Is Law school really hard?  I'm getting nervous about University myself.  I can't believe I will soon be finished high school.  Next fall I will be starting a whole new life!

You are going to study law too??

Well, I guess each branch of study is somehow hard, but of course there are some you can pass more comfortable than others. I can only talk about Austrian law study... It´s hard here because you have partial very very huge exams, but otherwise there is mostly no compulsory attendance and so you can do lots of things from at home. That´s very practible if you are additionally working or if you have lots to do with music for example. I don´t know how law school is at you, but if you really want to do it, you won´t have any problems!

Yeah, the universities here don't really care about attendance... but you should still go to class.  I want to do a math minor along with my major so... I don't know how that's going to be, at least I have another year left... Megg, good luck to you!
