Do you know this film by Michael Moore?? I have to do a homework until next Monday about this film with following information: After watching the documentary, what would you consider the most relevant differences in society and the law between the US, Canada, and Europe (Austria in particular). Justify your arguments by giving examples.
Essay guidelines: ca. 200 words Perhaps you can help me in finding arguments and just tell me your opinion about it!

I haven't seen the movie, but I know the story. Lately there have been a lot of shootings going. There was one in Montreal, another in Pennsylvania, and a third somewhere else... all in a span of 2 months... pretty scary. Our school gave us a warning saying if we see a stranger in the hallway we have to notify the school office. I know there's a hill in Columbine with white crosses for the people who were murdered, and there was another girl who, when asked if she believed in God with a gun in her face, said yes. There's a song written about her too... maybe look it up (I don't have any other info, sorry!)

Thank you! In the film it´s said, that in Canada there are just a few murder by guns a year - in U.S. there are more than 10.000! And it´s also said, that people in Canada don´t lock there doors, because they are not as afraid as U.S.-people are. Can you confirm these facts?

Well, we lock our doors, just because Winnipeg is kind of scary, and because we actually live inside the city. People outside the city don't lock their doors as often. And since Winnipeg is also the murder capital of Canada (yippee!) there are about 3 a year in Winnipeg alone... that's a population of 700,000. Toronto (Canada's largest city) has a population of over 2,000,000. So I guess we're still under the U.S. but you can look on the Governmentof Canada website and take a look at the statistics.

1-2? Have no idea what that is, but if you say it's good, CONGRATULATIONS!! How does the marking system work over there? We just have percentages...

Oh sorry I forgot the different mark-systems! We have marks from 1 to 5. 1 means very good, 2 means good.....5 not satisfactory. So my essay is between 1 and 2 ...
