I went in to watch an IWE rehearsal and you guys were all sitting in circles... did you perform like that, or was it just for that rehearsal?

No, that was just for this rehearsal! Each circle had at least one player of each register and it was a very good practice for listening. In this form we tried to play our pieces, but not only all together! NO! Each circle played for example 4 measures, then came the next circle...and so on. It sounded peculiar... And we tried to reduce measures - at the end each circle played only one, and that was very difficult!

Wow... I should suggest that for my band! Sounds really cool!

Yes it´s a very actual method, because you learn to listen better to the others! And the next rehearsal sounded really better!

I´d like to try it with my wind ensemble too, but I guess that the old people in my ensemble will not be enthusiastic about...
