Zitat:
Asked how he got the gig by Kit, Wright said that even before he was writing Shaun of the Dead, he was in L.A., and had a meeting with Artisan. At that time, Artisan had some of the Marvel properties for production, and Ant-Man clicked with Wright, as he was a fan of the character from its Marvel Premiere days.
Wright wrote a treatment of the film with a friend, but nothing came of it, but after Shaun, was asked by Marvel if he had any ideas for a Marvel film, and dusted the pitch back off.
In regards to the story, Wright said he's not interested in making a spoof, but is looking at it as an action hero, and bring things back to his Tales to Astonish days, showing more as a secret crime fighter, rather than a comedy about an inch-tall man in tights.
As for the secret identity of Ant-Man in the film, Wright said his story involves both Henry Pym and Scott Lang, showing Henry Pym in a Cold War setting, and then flashing forward to show Lang in the current day. The plot elements from the history will remain, Wright explained, and there will be a working relationship between Pym and Lang after Lang steals the Ant-Man suit.
Asked if he'll have the full-on helmet, Wright said he liked the Tales to Astonish incarnation suit, with it's diving bell look. As such, in Wright's version of the story, the suit that Lang finds will be an old suit.
"It's very early days, so I wouldn't want to say anything one way or the other, and just to piss Simon off as well," Wright said, when asked if he might consider casting his Shaun star Simon Pegg in the Ant-Man movie.
Still speaking about Ant-Man, Wright said that while he doesn't want to gloss over 40 years of history of the character, Pym and Lang will most likely be the only characters from the comics appearing in the film. The director also said that he's really not interested in making a super-villain movie.
Talking about the larger approach to the material, Wright said that while the genre of shrinking people films ("If there is one") are usually about how scary it is to be small, but this will be about how kick-ass it is to be small. |
klingt nicht schlecht...

“Comics Fan” columnist Bill Radford (of the Colorado Springs Gazette) looks at some of superhero movies Marvel will be releasing this year and the next and pulls a bunch of quotes from Kevin Feige, president of production for Marvel Studios:
Feige … said the company takes the same approach whether tackling a much-beloved character such as Spider-Man or a lesser-known one such as Ghost Rider.
“We know there’s a hard-core group of loyal, loving fans of any given property, whether it’s Spider-Man or the X-Men or the Fantastic Four or Ghost Rider,” he said. The studio works to please those fans by staying true to the character while also appealing to a broader audience by not getting bogged down in comic book continuity or minutiae.
“It’s really about telling the best story and staying true to the origins of the character,” Feige said.
If you say so Kevin, if you say so. http://daily.gazette.com/Repository/ml.asp?Ref=VGhlR2F6ZXR0ZS8yMDA3LzAyLzA0I0FyMDU0MDA=&Mode=Gif&Locale=english-skin-custom

Empire Online also talked to director Edgar Wright about working on the diminutive project. "It's written and we're doing a second draft of it," said Wright. "It's going to be less overtly comedic than anything else I've ever done. It's more of a full-on action adventure sci-fi film but with a comedic element -- in the same spirit of a lot of escapist fare like that. It's certainly not a superhero spoof or pastiche and it certainly isn't a sort of 'Honey I Shrunk The Kids' endeavour at all." |

Na, das beruhigt mich doch ein wenig. Hatte schon Angst, sie würden exakt das daraus machen!
