Simplest of all - Santa is no longer the single person he once was, but a huge conglomerate (Santa Inc). Their headquarters is, of course, in Santa Fe.

This is why you have all these Santas everywhere. They're his minions. It was fine to go around in a sleigh delivering gifts by himself in the olden days but the population has rocketed since then.
