Ich hab nen Bericht über das Team gefunden, wer ist denn bitte Austin Egan? Sagt euch der Name was? Ist doch bestimmt mit Kian verwandt oder? Ich kenne die Namen ja net von seinen vielen Geschwistern
SUMMERHILL are enjoying a reign of glory currently on all sports fronts. Recent basketball triumph set in motion a charge of spectacular wins. Wednesday, March 25th, witnessed a fantastic crowning glory for Summerhill at Maricieviz Park in the U-18 Connacht Gaelic final between Summerhill & Banada Abbey. The dark dreary clouds which hovered menacingly overhead did not deter any of the enthusiastic supporters, comprising both student body and staff, from a memorable day. The game commenced at 1.00 p.m. A keenly contested first half ensured both teams would have to battle for glory in the second. Undaunted, Summerhill stamped their authority 3on the game from the beginning of the second half. Summerhill goalkeeper J. Curran pulled off a marvellous double-save. Injury time points from Mark Brehony and Connor O'Gredy claimed the Connacht College B title. The final score was Summerhill 1-13, Benada 2-8. The team 3subsequently won the All-Ireland quarter-final against Lucan CBS. Appreciation is extended to Mr. D. Cronin, P. O'Toole (senior), Mr. P. Durcan and Fr. Gannon. The Chairman of the Connacht Colleges, Austin Egan presented the Richie Bell Cup to Summernill's Captain, P. O'Toole after the game. Congratultions to the 1st year squad who have qualified for the Connacht semi-final by winning out their section.
