Israeli forces shot and killed an elderly Palestinian woman after an alleged vehicle attack in Halhul, north of Hebron on Friday.

A spokesperson at the Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem told Ma'an that the woman, aged 72, was dead upon arrival at the hospital.

Israeli media reported that the woman attempted to run over Israeli soldiers in Halhul and was shot and seriously wounded by Israeli forces.

The Jerusalem Post said that a "suspicious vehicle" drove at Israeli soldiers, with forces opening fire at the car.

No Israeli injuries were reported.

Israeli worshipers enter Hebron, Palestinian homes stormed

Israeli forces on Saturday denied Palestinian entry to the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron’s Old City and stormed Palestinian homes as Jewish worshippers entered the area, locals said.

Local sources told Ma’an that Jewish worshipers continued entrance to the occupied West Bank city for a Jewish holiday for the second day in a row.

Over 4,000 Jewish worshipers reportedly visited the city Friday night, accompanied by a heavy Israeli military presence in the area, when two Israelis were shot and injured near the mosque.

Palestinian prisoners held in the Israeli Etzion and Ashkelon jails are facing torture and assault by Israeli forces, a prisoners' rights group said.

Muhammad al-Khatib, 19, received fractures in his hands when he was beaten by Israeli forces inside of a military vehicle after being detained, Palestinian Prisoner’s Society lawyer Jacqueline Fararj said.
