Aufruf palästinensischer Intellektueller zu einer gewaltlosen Intifada
und dies ist keine Propaganda
Am 27. März 2004 veröffentlichte die palästinensische Tageszeitung Al-Ayyam einen Aufruf von über hundert palästinensischen Intellektuellen und PLO-Politikern. Sie verurteilen darin in scharfer Form das Attentat auf Hamas-Führer Scheich Ahmad Yassin fünf Tage zuvor, fordern aber die palästinensische Gesellschaft zu einer in der Bevölkerung verankerten und gewaltlosen Intifada auf. Die erste Veröffentlichung dieser Erklärung am 25. März wurde von 70 Personen, die folgende zwei Tage darauf von 155 Personen unterschrieben:
"Wir, die Unterzeichner dieser Erklärung, Kinder des palästinensischen Volkes aus verschiedenen politischen, ideologischen und sozialen Gruppen, vereint in ihrem gemeinsamen Kampf und ihrer Standhaftigkeit, verurteilen Israels offenkundige Aggression gegen unser Volk. Diese Aggressionen offenbarten sich vor einigen Tagen durch den kriminellen und niederträchtigen Akt von Scharon und seiner rechtsextremen Bande, die zum Märtyrertod des Führers Ahmad Yassin und der ihn begleitenden Kämpfer führte.
Noch einmal betonen wir, dass alle internationalen Verträgen die Rechte unseres Volkes bestätigen. Ebenso betonen wir das Recht, alle Mittel zu unserer Selbstverteidigung einzusetzen. Aber auch wenn uns der Schmerz über die Tragödie beinahe zerreißt, rufen wir die Kinder unseres Volkes in allen Regionen unseres Heimatlandes dennoch dazu auf, sich allein davon leiten zu lassen, was in unserem nationalen Interesse liegt. Und das heißt, der verbrecherischen Besatzerbande die Initiative aus der Hand zu nehmen, Racheakte im Zaum zu halten und eine gewaltfreie Intifada der breiten Masse zu initiieren - eine legitime und umfassende Intifada, die von klaren Zielen und vernünftigen Botschaften geprägt ist und ganz und gar von unserer um ihre Freiheit kämpfenden Bevölkerung initiiert und gelenkt wird. [Eine solche Intifada] wird Scharon nicht die Gelegenheit geben, seine Aggressionen gegen unsere Bevölkerung und ihre Heiligtümer zu krönen und letzte Hand an die Durchführung seines Sicherheitsplans zu legen.
Wir rufen also dazu auf, dass diese Intifada der Einheit zielgenaue und disziplinierte Aktivitäten wieder beleben soll, die von den Massen durchgeführt werden und sich an einem klaren Programm und am politischen Gewinn orientieren. Damit bekräftigen wir auch, dass wir uns unseren gerechten und legitimen Forderungen sowie unseren feststehenden Rechten verpflichtet fühlen.
Wir rufen zur Geschlossenheit auf der Grundlage der nationalen Einheit und der im Widerstand gegen die Besatzung vereinigten Führung auf."

EINE DRINGENDE ERKLÄRUNG AN DIE ISRAELISCHE ÖFFENTLICHKEIT
zu den Unterstützerinnen
Im Februar diesen Jahres haben wir, eine Gruppe palästinensischer Akademiker und Aktivisten, einen dringenden Aufruf an die israelische Öffentlichkeit gerichtet. Darin brachten wir unsere Befürchtung zum Ausdruck, daß der Osloer Friedensprozeß so, wie er sich in den letzten sieben Jahren entwickelte, unvermeidlich zu weiterem Konflikt, vielleicht sogar zu Krieg, statt zu dem erhofften Ziel führen wird: einer endgültigen historischen Versöhnung, die es unseren beiden Völkern ermöglichen würde, in Frieden, Menschenwürde und gutnachbarschaftlichen Beziehungen zu leben.
Wir drückten unsere Besorgnis darüber aus, daß die Osloer Vereinbarungen von Israel trotz gegenteiliger Behauptungen benutzt wurden, um eine nie dagewesene Ausdehnung der Siedlungen zu schaffen, die Bevölkerung der Siedlungen fast zu verdoppeln und mit der Beschlagnahmung palästinensischen Landes fortzufahren. Die Bewegungsfreiheit der Palästineser wurde erheblich eingeschränkt, während die Gewalt von Siedlern gegen unsere Dörfer ungehindert weiterging. Auf diesem Hintergrund hatte die palästinensische Bevölkerung keine physischen, legalen oder politischen Möglichkeiten des Schutzes.
Während die militärische Besatzung eine offensichtliche Realität ist, die uns jeden Tag betrifft, wurde dies mit Oslo in einer Art und Weise verschleiert, die internationales Recht und den dafür möglicherweise notwendigen Schutz negierte. Wir leben jetzt in einer Reihe von nicht miteinander verbundenen Gebieten, die als entstehender palästinensischer Staat postuliert werden. Nach der verdrehten Logik, die die Verhandlungen bestimmt hat, besteht der einzige Weg, um diese Bantustans zu erweitern, in Konzessionen durch die palästinensische Führung, die eine Reihe von israelischen Forderungen, die gegen das Völkerrecht verstoßen, legitimieren würden: Die Aufgabe unserer nationalen Rechte auf Ost-Jerusalem, die Erlaubnis, daß Siedlungen in den besetzten Gebieten bestehen bleiben und der Verzicht auf das Rückkehrrecht für die palästinensischen Flüchtlinge.
Die israelische Führung (sei es Likud oder Arbeitspartei) glaubte weiterhin daran, daß sie angesichts ihres massives Vorteils in der militärischen Balance in der Lage sein würde, der palästinensischen Autorität ihre ungerechte Vorstellung einer endgültigen Regelung aufzuzwingen und dabei so zu tun, als sei der Konflikt in den Augen der Welt geregelt. Die Illusion, ein zutiefst ungerechtes Abkommen könnte von Israel alleine mit Präsident Yasser Arafat abgeschlossen werden, von dem dann erwartet würde, daß er sein Volk zwingt, dies zu akzeptieren, ist äußerst kurzsichtig und hat unvermeidlich zu der kritischen Situation geführt, mit der wir nun konfrontiert sind.
Viele von uns waren während der vergangenen Wochen auf der Straße und haben weder Gewehre noch Steine in den Händen gehabt. Wir hielten Kerzen, um des Todes unserer Studenten, Nachbarn und Verwandten zu gedenken, die versucht haben, mit ihrem Leben die Welt zu Gehör zu bringen, was wir mit Worten nicht geschafft haben. Die naive und gefährliche Vorstellung, daß die Palästinenser auf Befehl von Yasser Arafat auf die Straße gegangen seien, ist nicht nur eine Beleidigung unserer Intelligenz, sondern auch ein deutliches Zeichen für den Mangel an Verständnis der Realität, in der wir leben.
Wir sind tief besorgt, daß der Konflikt sich zeitweise gefährlich in einen ethnisch/religiösen hochschaukelte, wie die Pogrome gegen arabische Bürger von Nazareth, das Lynchen der zwei israelischen Soldaten in Ramallah und die zahlreichen Angriffe des Mobs auf Synagogen und Moscheen gezeigt haben. Die äußerst unverantwortliche und selbstbezogene Entscheidung der Regierung Barak, Ariel Sharon auf den Haram al Sharif gehen zu lassen, zeigt nicht nur einen alarmierenden Mangel an Urteilsvermögen, sondern auch eine völlige Mißachtung palästinensischer, arabischer und moslemischer Sensibilitäten. Der Gebrauch von scharfer Munition gegen unbewaffnete palästinensische Zivilisten dort am nächsten Tag und bei den Protesten seitdem zeigt die völlige Verachtung palästinensischen Lebens.
Der hartnäckige und eskalierende Einsatz der überwältigenden militärischen Macht Israels mit dem Ziel, den gegenwärtigen Aufstand niederzuschlagen und die palästinenische Bevölkerung in die Unterwerfung zu zwingen, bringt eine gefährliche und mutwillige Weigerung zum Ausdruck, die zugrunde liegenden Ursachen anzugehen.
Militärische Macht ermöglicht es zwar, die gegenwärtigen Protestwellen zu unterdrücken - was unmittelbar viele Menschenleben kostet. Langfristig jedoch kann sie den Willen eines Volkes nicht aufhalten, das seinen gerechten und rechtmäßigen Platz in der Welt sucht. Sie wird uns außerdem dazu verdammen, die derzeitige Krise wieder und wieder zu erleben.
Alle von uns glauben an einen zwischen Israelis und Palästinensern fair und gerecht ausgehandelten Frieden, der das Recht auf Selbstbestimmung anerkennt. Wir haben aber wie unser Volk die Hoffnung verloren, die momentanen Ungerechtigkeiten inerhalb des Rahmens der Vereinbarungen von Oslo und der exklusiven amerikanischen 'Vermittlung' zu lösen. Wir glauben, daß wir eine faire Basis für einen Frieden finden müssen, die notwendigerweise die folgende allgemeinen Prinzipien als Ausgangspunkt nimmt:
1. Die Verhandlungen müssen auf der Grundlage geführt werden, daß alle Gebiete, die 1967 von Israel besetzt wurden, tatsächlich besetzte Gebiete sind und daß Frieden nur erreicht werden kann, wenn die Besetzung dieser Gebiete beendet wird und die Palästinenser so in die Lage versetzt werden, ihr Recht auf Selbstbestimmung und Souveränitat auszuüben.
2. Ost-Jerusalem ist Teil der palästinensischen Gebiete, die 1967 von Israel besetzt wurden. Konsequenterweise muß eine endgültige Regelung die palästinensische Souveränität über Ost-Jerusalem sowie die Verpflichtung gegenüber Jerusalem als der anerkannten Hauptstadt zweier Staaten beinhalten.
3. Israels Anerkennung seiner Verantwortung für die Verursachung der palästinensischen Flüchtlinge von 1948 ist eine Voraussetzung dafür, eine gerechte und dauerhafte Lösung des Flüchtlingsproblems entsprechend der relevanten UN-Resolutionen zu finden.
4. Beide Seiten müssen die gegenseitigen spirituellen und historischen Verbundenheiten gegenüber Stätten und Orten innerhalb ihrer eigenen Grenzen anerkennen und sie müssen den gesicherten Zugang des jeweils anderen Volkes zu diesen Orten innerhalb der eigenen Grenzen zusichern und garantieren. Auf keinen Fall sollte die Existenz solcher Stätten benutzt werden, um extraterritoriale Ansprüche auf Orte innerhalb der jeweiligen Grenzen zu erheben.
Wir glauben, daß die Umsetzung dieser Prinzipien einen gerechten und deshalb echten und dauerhaften Frieden ermöglicht. Die erhoffte Koexistenz zwischen unseren Völkern kann nur ermöglicht werden, wenn ein wiederhergestelltes Friedensabkommen fair ist. Dies bedeutet die moralische Anerkennung der historischen Ungerechtigkeit, die die Palästinenser heimgesucht hat. Frieden und Koexistenz können nicht durch das Aufzwingen einer ungerechten Regelung erlangt werden, die sich gegen den Willen des Volkes richtet. Dieses Land ist dazu bestimmt, die Heimat zweier Völker zu sein. Die Notwendigkeit einer Lösung, die auf gegenseitigem Respekt und gegenseitiger Übereinkunft gründet, wird nicht nur durch die Suche nach Sicherheit und Stabilität diktiert, sondern auch durch das Streben nach Freiheit und Wohlstand für künftige Generationen. Es ist unsere Hoffnung, daß aus den Tragödien der letzten Wochen eine neue und faire Vision von Frieden zwischen unseren beiden Völkern entstehen kann.

Israelis - of all people - know that military might and brutal force will not silence the voice of people fighting for their freedom; they have been subjected to similar kinds of inhuman treatment through out history and they survived, and so will the Palestinian people. The sooner the Israelis come to their senses and realize that the only way to peace is through meaningful negotiations between two "equal" partners, the better it is for both sides.

negotiators for peace must do is look at that map. The next thing they should do is explore together the meaning of those numerous settlements scattered throughout the territory. In fact, if the negotiators would

Ich habe am Sonntag (4.4.04) auf CNN einen sehr umfassenden und ausführlichen Bericht eines US-Journalisten gesehen, welcher kürzlich die israelische Mauer abgefahren ist und der mit den dafür Verantwortlichen und den davon Betroffenen diskutierte.
Es war eine Dokumentation darüber, wie schwerwiegend und belastend diese Mauer in die Freiheiten und das gesamte soziale, wirtschaftliche und kulturelle Leben der Palästinenser eingreift, ...so offen und detailliert hatte ich bisher keine Dokumetation dazu gesehen, geschweige denn von CNN erwartet.
Die Folgen der Einkerkerung der Palästinenser in viele, einzelne "Kessel", innerhalb ihres verbliebenen Territoriums, ...um palästinensische Städte und Gemeinden wurden Zäune errichtet mit Schießeinrichtungen, sodaß die Mensch nicht mehr von einer ihrer Ortschaften in die andere gelangen können, auch wenn diese im zusammenhängenden, palästinensischen Territorium liegen, ...daß Kinder damit keine Schulen mehr besuchen können und Studenten nicht mehr in die Universitäten gelangen, ...daß die Menschen von Ärzten, Krankenhäusern und anderen Einrichtungen abgeschnitten sind, sind allein auf die Vernichtung der palästinensischen Gesellschaft gerichtet. Das wurde in dem Bericht als Verbrechen auch so charakterisiert!
....und das alles innerhalb ihres eigenen Territoriums im Gaza!!!!
Ganz offen und sehr deutlich wurde auf CNN diese menschenrechtswidrige Politik der Israelis kritisiert und gegen die Vernichtungspolitik der israelischen Regierung Stellung bezogen, - eine für mich unerwartete Thematisierung der Situation im Nahen Osten durch einen der größten Fernsehsender der USA!

Der Aufruf, einschl. des Zitates, wurde in die deutsche Sprache korrekt übersetzt. Sie könnten sich an der Übersetzung und Ausformulierung eine Scheibe abschneiden. Müßten Sie den deutschen Sprachtest zur Einbürgerung ablegen, hätte ich bei Ihren deutschen Sprachkenntnissen große Zweifel daran, daß Sie ihn bestünden, ...in Bayern jedenfalls hätten Sie keine Chance! Ich bin mir auch sicher, daß Sie weder Hebräisch noch Arabisch sprechen, weil Sie ja nicht einmal Ihrer eigenen Muttersprache mächtig zu sein scheinen!

This is a well-established Israeli ritual: One takes a trivial matter, declares it to be the center of national life, decorates it and dances around it, all in order to escape from the real national problems that are so exasperating and frightening.
This time it really is a fir tree. A gentleman called Elhanan Tannenbaum. He was a prisoner of Hizbullah. In order to bring him back home, together with the bodies of three soldiers, Ariel Sharon released several hundred "terrorists". Since then, the whole country has been in uproar, day after day, week after week.
Why did Sharon make the deal? This week the terrible secret has come out: this fir tree is the former son-in-law of somebody who had some business with Sharon 30 years ago, when an American Jewish billionaire helped a poor army officer by the name of Ariel Sharon to acquire the biggest private farm in the country.
Did Sharon release hundreds of "terrorists" to help a former son-in-law of a former business associate? Is this a giant scandal? A most terrible case of corruption?
Even if it were so, I can answer only with two Hebrew words, which translate literally as "the delight of my grandmother". Or, in American: "big deal!"
As usual, the media do not pose the right questions, because the right questions might annoy some important people. For example: the security chiefs.
This Tannenbaum is a colonel in the reserves. In this capacity he was party to one of the most secret military projects in Israel. According to leaked hints, this project is no less secret than our nuclear activities (see Mordecai Vanunu, below.)
Now it transpires that Tannenbaum was, in civilian life, a professional crook, compulsive gambler, with an irregular family life, steeped in debt and closely connected with Lebanese drug dealers. How did such a person become a party to the most top secret project?
Well… Nobody knew what he was doing. Nobody inquired. He did not mention it to the chief of internal security of the defense establishment, a certain Yehiel Horev. And if nobody tells Horev, how is he to know?
When Tannenbaum went to Dubai, and then found himself in Hizbullah-land in Lebanon, the security establishment was shaken to its very foundations. A person who carries with him such awesome secrets is in the hands of our enemies? What has he told them, and what is he going to tell?
Because of this, the security establishment was ready to pay any price to get him back as quickly as possible: 50 "terrorists"? 500 "terrorists"? 5000 "terrorists"? Doesn't matter. The main thing is that he be returned at once.
That is understandable. If Tannenbaum had told what he knows, he would have caused "irreparable damage" (as official sources emphasized) to national security. In such cases, it is essential to find out if he did spill the beans or not. Therefore he was bought back for a high price, and since then he is being investigated, investigated and investigated.
The former son-in-law of the former friend does not come into it. The connection is intriguing, but not important.
A more significant question is: How did a person like Tannenbaum become a colonel? How inefficient must a security apparatus be for such a fiasco to become possible? And how come that Horev, one of the best-paid civil servants in Israel, was not kicked out?
Furthermore: if hundreds of "terrorists" can be released for one living crook and three dead bodies, perhaps their imprisonment was not really necessary for the security of the state? Perhaps the continued stay in prison of 7000 more of them is pointless? And if so, why were they not released in the cause of peace, to strengthen the position of Arafat in 1993 or Abu-Mazen not so long ago?
Horev and Co. are angry with Tannenbaum because he has revealed their incompetence. They are also angry with Mordecai Vanunu, for the same reason.
Vanunu was a minor technician at the Dimona nuclear reactor, a site so secret that for a long time it was forbidden to mention its very existence. When it became impossible to deny its existence any longer, the government pretended that it was a "textile factory".
At this site, the most highly guarded in Israel, Vanunu freely took pictures. Then he went abroad, became a Buddhist, converted to Christianity (or the other way round) and passed his information and photos to a British paper. On the basis of this information, scientists decided that Israel has 200 nuclear bombs.
The disclosure was credible but unofficial. Thus it strengthened Israel's deterrence, without the government being obliged to confirm it. This was so convenient for the government that, at the beginning, many people believed that Vanunu was really a Mossad agent.
But he was not. On the contrary, he represented a catastrophic failure of the security structure that was – and still is – headed by the above mentioned Horev. The reaction was drastic: Vanunu was kidnapped in Rome and brought to Israel in a box – just as Tannenbaum was kidnapped in Dubai and brought (apparently) in a box to Beirut. Vanunu succeeded in conveying this to the media by writing it on the palm of his hand and waving on the way to court.
This infuriated Horev and Co. even more. For many years they kept Vanunu in prison in total isolation. Now that he has completed his whole sentence, they do not want to release him. And if the court does no allow them to keep him in prison, they want to prevent him from going abroad or speaking to journalists.
Why? The argument is that even now, 20 years later, he may be in possession of information that could endanger the state.
By the way, a similar argument is used by the American security agencies for refusing to release Jonathan Pollard, who spied for Israel and received a life sentence. They believe that Pollard knows the identity of an Israeli mole in the highest circles of the American administration, who told Pollard which documents to steal and transfer to Israel.
Tannenbaum, Vanunu, Pollard – all these are intriguing stories, useful for increasing the circulation and ratings of the media. And, more importantly, they distract attention from the real dangers that threaten us: - the building of the monstrous wall in the occupied territories, Sharon's plan to annex more than half of the West Bank, - the ongoing effort to destroy the Palestinian Authority, - the daily bloody cycle of targeted killings – suicide bombings – assassinations, murder and revenge, - and the destruction of all chances for peace.
Who wants to think about that? Who wants to deal with it? It is much more pleasant to sing and dance around the fir tree:
"O Tannenbaum, O Tannenbaum..."

"Reflektieren" Sie diesen internationalen "Aufschrei", der sich im Gleichklang mit jenem der Palästinenser heute vermischt hat!
Eigentlich hatte ich schon gestern, nach der Bekanntgabe des Sharon-Bush-Komplottes , diesen "Schrei" erwartet, ...aber die Ungeheuerlichkeit, die Anmaßung und die Menschenverachtung, welche in der Abmachung dieser beiden Staatsterroristen liegt, ...die bedurfte wohl erst eines ganz tiefen Luftholens, ...bevor der internationale, vielstimmige "Aufschrei" sich heute löste!
Ich hoffe für das geschundene, vertriebene, beraubte und gemordete Volk der Palästinenser, daß die Staaten dieser Welt nun sehr schnell eine eigene, geeignete "Charta der Sanktionen" gegenüber Israel erlassen und implementieren, unabhängig davon, was Bush sagt oder denkt!
...und noch etwas sollten Sie reflektieren:
Ob uns die Charta der Hamas gefällt oder nicht, es ist eine "Charta" der Reaktion, der Notwehr, des Überelbenskampfes des palästinensischen Volkes! Sie ist nicht Ursache sondern Wirkung! Die Schraube der Gewalt gegen die Palästinenser haben seit 1948 immer andere "gedreht", ohne die palästinensischen Araber überhaupt zu fragen! Die Antworten und Reaktionen sind schrecklich eskaliert, ...mit der Sharon-Bush-Konnektion dürfte das Maß für Israel voll sein.
Du erzählst Käse. Solch antisemitischen/nationalistischen Scheißdreck (den Du hier glatt entschuldigst) muss man nicht NOTGEDRUNGEN ALS ZEICHEN DER OHNMACHT von sich geben. Man könnte auch sagen: Wir wollen Kommunismus statt Staaten. Außerdem gibt es genügend Palästinenser, die schlauer sind als die HAMAS und FATAH und die ganzen beknackten Gruppen.
Nichts gg. die Kritik an der Gewalt des Staates Israel (wie aller anderen Staaten auch!), aber das ist kein Gut/Böse Kampf, sondern da prallen 2 Nationalismen gegeneinander: ein israelischer und ein palästinensischer, der den Leuten dort - egal ob Israeli oder Araber - nicht gut bekommt.
Hoffentlich kriegst Du mal deine Vernunft wieder in Gang statt der ganzen Moral, die Du hier ablässt.
